Race Information
Entry for the 2011 Survival of the Shawangunks is now closed.
Registration for 2012 will open NOVEMBER 1 at Midnight (Easter time).

Schedule:
Sept 10th | 5PM: Mandatory orientation meeting. Location TBD
Sept 11th | 7AM Start time at the Ulster County Fairgrounds (map). The fairgrounds are located 2.5 miles south of the Village of New Paltz on County Road #7.

Safety:
One crew member is required at the bike-run transition.
ANSI and/or Snell approved helmets are required during the bicycle leg.
Swim caps are required during the swims.
After the bike transition participants will be required to carry all of their run and swim gear on each leg. No items can be discarded or picked up along the way. This means that participants must carry shoes during all swims.
This is a summer endurance event and triathlete support is minimal. Do not overstep your limitations.

Requirements for Entry:
A $325 participation fee will be collected at registration.
USAT insurance is required, either via USAT membership or through the purchase of a single day coverage for $10.
First-time entrants in the S.O.S. must have completed, in the past 18 months, a half-Ironman within 7 hrs or a full Ironman in 15 hours or less. Qualifying times will be required at the time of registration and backup documentation will be requested by the Race Director (print out of results with your entry highlighted). S.O.S. survivors, within the last two years, need only include qualifying S.O.S. Year and Finish Time.
